Philippa Kindon
Since earning her PhD from the School of Management in 2007, Philippa has forged a varied career in business support and development across both public and private sectors. This has included helping hundreds of start-up, high-growth and growth potential business access support and funding across the South West; running Enterprise Centres for small and growing businesses in Bath and North East Somerset and Wiltshire; and bidding for, winning and running innovation projects that have saved thousands of hours and millions of pounds for the NHS. Philippa now works in business development for the innovative health tech firm Mayden, in Bath. Mayden has grown into a thriving, 150 employee strong business - without middle managers. Philippa and her colleagues have captured their story of organising in this unusual way in their recently published book 'Made without Managers'. Mayden's mission is to transform health and care, together with their customers and other key stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem, by providing innovative digital solutions that improve outcomes for patients and the people who care for them.
