In the first episode of Management Meets, we explore risk-taking in entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship. With personal insights from two alumni guests, the discussion covers the challenges and opportunities presented by taking risks in business.

I serve as Dean of the School of Management, at the University of Bath in the United Kingdom, where I began my career. Before Re-joining Bath, I held senior roles in research-intensive universities in the United Kingdom (the Universities of Warwick, and Birmingham) and Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. As Dean of the School of Management, I am responsible for the strategic direction of one of Europe's leading centres of business research and education. As a member of the University's Executive Board, I also contribute to the leadership, positioning, and prosperity of the wider University. In a former life, I am a leading scholar in the fields of business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability. Specifically, my research explored firm-stakeholder relationships, the strategic management of these, and corresponding impacts on company performance and reputation. I continue to serve as an Associate Editor of the British Journal of Management, as a member of a number of journal editorial boards, and served for a number of years as a member of the scientific committee of the Chartered Association of Business School's Academic Journal Guide.

Coming in with years of experience in business and strategy consulting, project management, Jai is responsible for building the esports, talent management and production verticals of Orangutan. He has previously been associated with organizations like Percept Limited, BHyve, The Alpha Urbane Project and more. Aside from his professional endeavors, Jai is passionate about providing accessible education and is a visiting faculty at Atlas Skilltech University and ISM Globle. Jai Shah holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce from University of Mumbai and in Entrepreneurship and Business Management from ISME along with a Master’s in Entrepreneurship and Management from University of Bath. In his free time, Jai is passionate about running, fitness and gaming.

Professor Dimo Dimov is an academic at the University of Bath, School of Management. His research focuses on enabling, accelerating, and funding the entrepreneurial journey, from initial idea to viable venture, in independent, corporate, and social settings. An evolving entrepreneurial opportunity is central in this process: obvious in retrospect, but uncertain, nebulous, and ambiguous in prospect. Dimo is interested in how potential entrepreneurs and investors think, act, and interact in the face of such uncertainty and how these interactions give rise to exciting new phenomena.

She focuses on developing and leading new business ventures across industries and geographies with a strong focus on digital and data-driven applications. In her role, she strives to connect customer insights, product management, and marketing with a strong application of agile practices. Previously, Shinarai was responsible for digital strategy, product management, and digital marketing in her roles within Henkel and Udacity. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Hamburg of Applied Sciences (Germany) and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Bath, School of Management (UK). She is currently based in Berlin, Germany
